Recycling

Donarbon operates a recycling facility for construction, demolition and general skip waste. Currently 55-60% of the waste arriving at this site is recovered or recycled. Materials recovered from the screening and sorting process are treated further and provide recycled soils and hardcore for general sale.

Glass bottles are crushed into an aggregate that is used in products such as concrete or tarmac or used as a sub-base or drainage material. Donarbon offers a mixed glass collection service, with bottles, to pubs, clubs and restaurants.

Donarbon also operates a clean timber recycling area, accepting clean, untreated wood for chipping. The chipped timber is then used in the manufacture of chipboard.
